It's great though, quite slow paced compared to most short-form animes, it's more along the line of a U. drama series, similar to both Black Mirror and Carnival Row as it mixed fantasy and sci-fi. I'm actually surprised this series isn't more popular in the U. as it has the layout, pacing and tone of a typical U. dark sci-fi series. rating: 4/5 Golden Boy This anime is a considered cult-classic and you can tell why by the very first episode. About a boy, who's much smarter than he looks, traveling across Japan on his bicycle having various sexual encounters along the way. It's very funny and quite wholesome. I'm not even disappointed it's only 6-episodes, that's exactly the way it should be, short, sweet and memorable. rating: 5/5 Samurai Champloo Set in an alternate edo period, a delicate girl, a boisterous delinquent and a humbled master swordsman who all met up by fate, sets off on a journey to find the sumarai that smells of sunflowers. Sumarai Champloo isn't the most engaging series I admit.

Being in the mood to watch it again, Prime or Netflix wasn't offering it in their libraries (as of this writing, Prime is now showing the theatrical release. Yay! ), so I jumped on Amazon to rent it. I discovered there was a directors cut. Wow, a chance to see one of my favorites, only better, because the director wasn't being restricted by the stupid studio, right? Wrong! Way wrong! Watching both versions verifies two very import facets of filmmaking. 1) The film score is critically important. The score for the director's cut is bland and in my opinion, detracts from the film. The theatrical release, which is decidedly noir, has a very supportive score, which punctuates the dark humor. 2) Studios know what sells.
I don't know but I've always found that a lot of the most offensive comedians are usually the funniest and most entertaining ones like Jo Koy, Ricky Jervais, etc. and Dave Chapelle is definitely one of those, making jokes about Michael Jackson, the LGBT community, Jussie Smollett, Louis CK, among others. And he also got to say what I've always thought about Anthony Bourdain's killing himself despite having one of the best jobs in the world. Incredibly entertaining for me, definitely a Must See, one of the best comedy specials on Netflix.

I was wondering why he was never disinterred, because Hart's Island keeps meticulous burial records and people are frequently identified, disinterred and moved to local cemeteries, but apparently there was a fire that destroyed a couple of years worth of burial records, including the year he was buried, so they don't actually know where he is. They know what segment but not what specific location. That's rough.
