The character development through the first movie of this 2nd & last one, continues & I find very well done. Even though it has a heavy sad background story to this one it is cancelled very well & keeps the main storyline, changing friendships, still the main focus using the background story to build on this. It is a very sad and slow moving movie. Lance is angry and somber throughout most of the movie and it gets progressively more sad as the movie unfolds. Quentin brings the only laughter and up beat feel to the movie in the same way that he did in the 1st movie. The acting was good and it was good to see everyone back together again.

With all due respect to Curzon, even at the time, I would be reluctant to trust so much to picaresque novels with all their satire and cynicism, even if Morier got all the local color right. More than a century later, of course, Persia is now Iran, the Shahs are gone, and I would urge people to read it for the fun of it. The story is cast as a manuscript, written by Hajji Baba, which he fears to take back with him to Persia after his adventures in England. He entrusts it to one Peregrine Persic, who is sending the translation to the chaplain of the Swedish Embassy at the Ottoman Porte. Hajji Baba is a barber, working with his father in Ispahan, when his yen for adventure leads him to take service with a merchant, Osman Aga, and he is off on wild and woolly series of events sometimes tragic, generally dramatic, and often funny. He is taken captive by nomads, nearly executed a few times, rises in favor at court, and then falls, but always manages to regain his footing and be off on new adventures.

Our first visit up to Northern Queensland, tonight sees the turn of a Cairns-shot Ozploitation classic; a sleazy, hugely enjoyable treat for the B-Movie fan. Set in a dystopian near-future, "Turkey Shoot" depicts an alternative-world year 2000 where the world's population has far more things to worry about than a non-existent Millennium Bug. Here the Establishment has created a totalitarian society, where the lower classes and anyone deemed to be a misfit or troublemaker are sent to prison camps for "Re-Education & Behaviour Modification". The film kicks off by introducing us to three new prisoners (including Olivia Hussey from festive slasher classic "Black Christmas") arriving into Camp 47 in their newly conscripted prisonwear yellow jumpsuits, who are soon selected to be the prey in a new camp initiative called the Turkey Shoot, where rich VIPs can hunt and kill prisoners for sport with whatever weapons or method of their choosing. If these particular prisoners can survive the all-day event hiding out in the Australian wilderness, and make it to night-time without meeting a sticky end, they will be free to join society again…..
Sharing genre space with later killer-hunt movies such as "Battle Royale" or "The Hunger Games", "Turkey Shoot" makes this month's horror list for it's gory over-the-top violence, sleazy nature and purely as an exercise in bad taste Aussie-style! A toe-eating pet monster (don't ask! ) also joins the hunting party for no other explainable reason than to up the excess and trashy nature of the whole proceedings. The inclusion of one small textbook horror-scene was a nice touch too, where Ms Hussey stumbles across the body parts of previous hunt victims out in the forest, a snake popping out of a skull's eye-socket at just the right time (of course). Along the way we're also treated to some curiously bad dubbing, an action-movie soundtrack, a crossbow-wielding female huntress firing explosive arrows, an accidental chopped-in-half death scene caused by ineffectual digger brakes (! ) and a hilariously over-the-top action-movie finale including a load of jet planes that are despatched to napalm the entire camp after the Shoot inadvertently sets off an all-out prisoner-vs-soldier war!
Apparently, the decision to name the sadistic camp master Charles Thatcher was an intentional dig at the UK's then Prime Minister…. The film even got renamed for the UK VHS market as "Blood Camp Thatcher", the title on the credits when I first watched this years back as a teenager on the Vipco's then BBFC-edited version (I picked up the "Turkey Shoot" DVD shortly afterwards wanting to see the full uncut version! ) A bit of a flop in it's home country supposedly, but a minor hit in the UK upon it's release, 'Turkey Shoot' is a great Australian example of gloriously trashy entertainment that is infinitely re-watchable. Big thumbs up from me!

Per Ficarra e Picone si tratta della quattordicesima stagione consecutiva della loro conduzione e caso ha voluto che ancora una volta la loro trasmissione coinciderà con la tornata elettorale del 4 marzo.
