Doch Mia kann sich mit dem Leben in Afrika nicht anfreunden, weil sie ihre Heimat und ihre Freunde vermisst. Das ändert sich erst, als ihr Vater ihr den weißen Löwen Charlie anvertraut, der auf der Großkatzenfarm ihrer Eltern zur Welt gekommen ist. Drei Jahre lang wachsen sie Seite an Seite auf, doch dann gerät Charlie in Not, denn er ist mittlerweile zu einem ausgewachsenen Löwen geworden und stellt für die Touristen, die die Farm besuchen, eine Gefahr dar. Als sie von den Plänen ihres Vaters Wind kriegt, der Charlie verkaufen möchte, entschließt sich Mia, mit ihrem Freund quer durch das Land in ein Schutzreservat zu fliehen, um ihn in Sicherheit zu bringen... After three days of searching, I'd come up with nothing. Then, I got a phone call. This was weird since I didn't remember giving my number out, just my e-mail, but I was so excited to have a lead that I put that minor concern out of my mind. The guy, Matthew, said he had a copy, and that he'd mail it to me if I just gave him my address. He only lived a couple of hours away so I offered to pick it up, that way I'd definitely have it in time for when my girlfriend was moving in, but he turned down the offer. He didn't give a good reason why, but simply insisted on mailing it. I didn't push the point too hard. I really wanted the record. Plus, for some reason he, again, couldn't quite explain, he refused to take any money for it. I received the record two days later, just in time. It was in mint condition, as good as new. I hadn't seen the cover image before since there were no pictures of it online, and, I can't explain why, but there was something 'off' about it. It was a simple enough image, a black spiral with a white eye at its centre, set against a red background.
