Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2020 Verified Purchase Flags Of Our Fathers was a Clint Eastwood film based upon a book of the same name. It covers the men that raised the American flag on the top of Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1944. Through a series of flashbacks it moves back and forth through time to cover the men before battle, during it, the aftermath, and then in their old age. The combat on Iwo Jima is harrowing. The Japanese were coming out of tunnels and caves and Marines were dropping left and right. What stands out about the movie is the aftermath of the flag raising. Some of the Marines couldn't handle the celebrity they had to deal with afterward. Some of them embraced it. Half the Marines died and their families had to handle their legacies. Ira Hayes (Adam Beach) the Marine who didn't like fame had a really, REALLY melancholy story that is really heart breaking. This is what makes Flags Of Our Fathers such a great movie. It's more of a life story than a war film and it's all the better because of it.

Bridget Fonda practices a dance routine with the flag, and another female actress wears a Confederate-themed bikini. So overall, I rated this 3 stars. Average story, good dance routines, especially the Shag contest near the end, great performances by Phoebe Cates and Annabeth Gish. Bridget Fonda is very good in her role, but her character is not meant to be particularly likable. There is regional interest for Myrtle Beach. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under the age of 15 or 16, and due to the scenes mentioned above, many will choose to pass on this movie. This show is over hyped and I will explain why. Before we get started, I would like to explain that I understand this show isn't suppose to be a Game Of Thrones or a Breaking Bad, and I understand that it is suppose to be an episode-to-episode story line. However, the biggest flaw in The Mandalorian, is that none of the characters make realistic decisions. None of the characters care about themselves, care about life, and they are all backstabbers. I will give examples... The first two episodes were good. Good plot, good action, just good all around. The only complaint is Mando killed IG-11 after teaming up with him. However, he is just a droid so it is no big deal. In episode 3, Mando turns Baby Yoda in to the Client. Then he changes his mind and rescues him. Then, Karga confronts Mando with the entire guild outside. A firefight breaks out and then all of a sudden every Mandalorian within a 5 mile radius flies in and saves Mando even though they were just hating on him not too long ago.
