You get a mix of Joanne Woodward, Melanie Griffin (as a teen), Tony Franciosa (doing a very good job acting)and a stellar supporting caste. There are allot of twists and turns, allot of dialog, one shoot out - it's Newman as Harper not Jason Bourne! I recommend that you whop up in bed with some popcorn, coca cola and both Newman Harper movies! Episode Summary Violetta is unhappy that Federico is staying at her house. Federico finds out that Violetta is studying at the Studio and singing without her father knowing. He also discovers that Angie is Violetta's tutor. Federico threatens to tell Herman everything. Leon convinces Federico to hear at least Violetta sing. Violetta and Federico sing "This Is My World" together. Admiring Violetta's singing talent, Federico becomes friends with her and promises not to tell her father anything. Meanwhile, cameras are installed everywhere at the Studio since a reality show will be set up there, and they will record everyone. The students sign up for the talent show. Violetta doesn't want to sign up because she fears that her father will find out. Tomas tries to convince Violetta to sign up, but to no avail. Maxi overhears Naty telling Francesca that she likes him. Ludmila makes fun of the fact that Violetta refuses to sign up for the show and calls her "a coward". Yada-yada, we all know where this is going. The rolls of the young men were appealing played by attractive non-stereotypical looking actors. The father capably played by Dukes of Hazzard former hunk, Tom Wopat, was hard to look at so much, though I suppose the psychological makeup of the dilusional father was a critical ingredient of the story. The therapist played by Gregory Harrison, was so convincing in his roll, that the viewer might actually suspect that he believed what he was saying in all of his scenes, lol. Interesting footnote: the last names of both the boys were the same names as the actors who portrayed them. I normally don't bother reviewing films, but the 4 1/2 star rating on this film was a little far fetched in my opinion, which in turn left me a bit disappointed. The fact is that I liked it- but didn't love it.
