He was such an annoying big kid and that was so cute! (For the duration of the movie; not sure if I could handle it 24/7 before he became a good guy at the end) I'm glad they ended up together (obviously) they'll balance eachother well 💖🎄 Movie night with Eron, via Messenger of course. I'm pulling her into the Hallmark/Lifetime swamp with me and decided it was time to like... showcase some favourite actors. And we're getting both Andrew Walker and Joy Lenz here so why not (and we were in a more christmassy mood so it was this rather than their other one). Of course it's a rewatch for me. Andrew and Joy have excellent chemistry I must say. They're both adorable and play off each other well. I felt like the dialogue was quite quick and snappy. And like damn, they really leaned into the whole bonding and sharing really deep things with each other very quickly. Love Kevin's family. For once this movie… This is very highly rated on here - a 3. 2 for a Hallmark movie on Letterboxd is like a 4.

But it bears repeating: a remake is not a slight on the original. No one's making an attack on the original, nor its fans. Film buffs give out absolute yards about the film industry running out of ideas (never mind the fact that, at this very moment, small films like Ordinary Love, Honey Boy, The Two Popes and Marriage Story are all blazing with wit and originality). Most of them will declare, often without so much as a sniff of the new project, that the original is way better. Certainly, the reboot is the ultimate safe move in an industry that's becoming more risk-averse by the day. As William Goldman pointed out about Hollywood, nobody knows anything.
