Both actors chose this film of all of their own as their personal favorite. It is no wonder. Bring a tissue along to Waterloo Bridge; you're going to need it. It is a beautiful story, very well done by the principal and supporting actors set in wartime London during WWII. Spoiler alert! - The ending will sadden you despite the great story. The acting was superb and the two actors really made the love story quite real but I would have preferred to have seen a much happier ending. The movie would have been much more enjoyable written differently from the point of the newspaper article and finishing with a happy ending. While I don't expect all movies to have a happy ending, this movie deserved one.
