It felt too similar to both S1E5 and S2E5 where slowly every member of your crew dies away until only you two remain. There were also way fewer slower, emotional moments in here, most of it was constant action and slumbrous quick time events. The twist that Clementine actually does not die and the crew is actually doing well was a fantastic relief but it doesn't significantly elevate the earlier parts of the episode in my opinion. Also, the flashback to McCarroll Ranch felt pretty random to me, seems like they didn't find a better way to include it into the story and just shoved it in there. Omar. Seriously, what was that? Why, just why include this character at all if you are opposed to giving him any character development. I needed to look up his name in order to write his paragraph The gameplay is in the way of the good aspects in this series. Same criticism as with A New Frontier. Quicktime events as the primary gameplay mechanics are just horrendously outdated. Having to quickly press a button does not provide me any fun or suspense and it does not make me feel that I am actually the person in danger in that moment.
